Rostock Harbor is located on the other side of Warnow, the river that flows through the city. On the port side, it is easy to drive on to other destinations in Germany and Europe. A couple of kilometers from the port there are also border shops that are easy to approach by car.

Public transport
Travelers who want to travel by public transport to Rostock City or to the cozy coastal town of Warnemünde can take a bus from the adjacent bus station. No bus goes directly so travelers must change at other traffic hubs to get to Rostock City or Warnemünde. Tickets can be purchased in the buses with cash. A ticket costs 2.40 Euro and is valid for 90 minutes. It is also possible to buy a 24-hour ticket.

A taxi ride from the port to the city costs around 25-30 Euro (Be prepared to pay in cash. ATM is located outside the terminal building).

Way to the harbor by car
From the south: Follow the highway A19 straight away until the exit “Rostock Überseehafen/ Baltic ferries”.
From east and west: You arrive on the highway A20, at the cross “Rostock” shift to highway A19 in direction: Rostock Überseehafen/ Baltic ferries.
Please note: Driving with studded tires is prohibited in Germany.

- Foot passengers will wait close by the terminal before entering the gate to access the ship.
- Cars will use the car check-in, on top of the check-in container will be a sign with Hansa Destinations, inside the port follow the signs to the berth and vessel.
- Passenger check in closes 20 minutes before departure.
