General Terms & Conditions

These general conditions regulate the contractual relationship between HDAB and You who book a ferry or other travel services through Hansa Destinations AB (“HDAB”).

By making a booking with us, You accept these general conditions both for Yourself and for all other persons on whose behalf You have made a booking, and You thereby confirm that You have received the necessary authorisation from these persons to do this on their behalf.

Terms & Conditions for travel by ferry

Mini, Flexi and Flexiplus are three ticket options with different terms. You can choose different ticket options for the outbound and return journeys. You cannot switch to a different ticket option once Your booking is complete. A passenger port fee is included in the ticket price regardless of which option you chose.

Mini ticket

Mini tickets are not rebookable and not refundable. 

Booking terms: The ticket is not rebookable or refundable. Additional bookings and passenger name changes are permitted. Cancellation of extra services, such as transfer bus tickets, made no later than one hour prior to departure, will be fully reimbursed, provided the refund is applied for within 90 days of the original departure date.

Terms of payment: Payment for the ticket must be made immediately. Any ticket that has not been paid for on time will automatically be cancelled. All tickets are fully refundable within 24 hours of the booking occasion.

Flexi ticket

The Flexi ticket is rebookable to a later sailing, departing within a maximum of 24 months following the original outbound date. Please note that this ticket is not refundable. 

Rebooking terms: The ticket is rebookable up to 24 hours prior to departure. Tickets can be rebooked to another departure which is open for booking at the time of rebooking.
Rebooking to a more expensive alternative will incur a cost for the difference.

Terms of payment: Payment must reach us no later than 28 days prior to the departure date. Bookings made later than 28 days prior to departure must be paid for immediately.

All tickets are fully refundable within 24 hours of the booking occasion.

Flexiplus ticket

The flexiplus ticket is rebookable to a later sailing, departing within a maximum of 24 months following the original outbound date. It is also refundable. 

Rebooking and cancellation terms: The ticket is rebookable up to 24 hours prior to departure, and is refundable on cancellation no later than 24 hours prior to departure. Tickets can be rebooked to another departure which is available at the time of rebooking.
Rebooking to a more expensive alternative will incur a cost for the difference.

Terms of payment: Payment must reach us no later than 28 days prior to the departure date. Bookings made later than 28 days prior to departure must be paid for immediately. All tickets are fully refundable within 24 hours of the booking occasion.

Refund due to sickness 

If You have to cancel Your trip due to sickness and cancel Your ticket no later than one hour prior to departure, You will be refunded on presentation of a doctor’s certificate, irrespective of Your choice of ticket. The full cost of the ticket will be refunded in full, subject to a SEK 50 service charge.

The Swedish Maritime Administration stipulates that all passengers must state their name, date of birth, nationality and any functional diversity at the time of booking. Read more about how we manage Your personal data in our private policy here >>

Disclaimer of liability 

We reserve the right to make changes in times, prices, payment and discount terms during the validity period of the sailing schedule.

Check-in

When you pass the check-in desk, show Your travel ticket and valid identification.

Check-in closes 60 minutes before departure when travelling to and from Rostock.

When travelling from Nynäshamn to Visby or opposite 20 minutes.

If You do not keep to these deadlines, Your seat will be regarded as cancelled and may be transferred to another traveller.

Carriage terms and conditions

For carriage by ferry, HDAB’s comprehensive carriage regulations will be applicable.

Group Travel, Terms & Conditions

Check-in opens at least 1½ hours prior to departure. Please arrive in good time to avoid unnecessary queues. We advise groups to be at the check-in desk no later than one hour prior to departure. Check-in closes 20 minutes prior to departure. 

Booking & payment terms for groups

Group travel applies to at least 10 passengers travelling on the same ferry crossing under one contract. One passenger, the travel leader, will be responsible for the entire group.

The booking can be made up to two hours prior to departure. In the event of cancellation of the entire group, the deposit will not be reimbursed. The balance must reach Hansa Destination AB no later than 28 days prior to departure.

Bookings made later than 28 days prior to departure must be paid in full immediately. Rebookings made later than 28 days prior to departure and which incur an extra charge for the group must be paid for immediately. 

Rebooking and cancellation terms

Group bookings cannot be divided or split once the journey has commenced.

In the event of cancellation of the entire group booking between 28 days and 24 hours prior to departure, Hansa Destinations AB reserves the right to retain 50% of the total price of the booking. In the event of rebooking or cancellation of individual passengers 28-12 days prior to departure, Hansa Destinations AB reserves the right to retain 10% of the total price of their tickets, but at least SEK 50 per amendment occasion.

In the event of rebooking or cancellation on the part of an individual passenger 11-2 days prior to departure, Hansa Destinations AB reserves the right to retain 25% of the total price of the individual’s ticket, but at least SEK 50 per amendment occasion.

In the event of rebooking or cancellation of the entire group or individual passengers later than 24 hours prior to departure, Hansa Destinations AB reserves the right to retain 100% of the total price of the booking, but at least SEK 50 per amendment occasion. 

Passenger list and check-in

A complete list of all passengers including name, date of birth (YY-MM-DD), gender and nationality must reach Hansa Destinations AB no later than 7 days prior to departure. ID-checks are periodically carried out (valid EU-identity card).

Your invoice/booking confirmation is your ticket. At check-in, the travel leader is responsible for the entire group and the accuracy of the passenger list.

We reserve the right to make changes in times, prices, travel and payment terms.
