These booking conditions regulate the contractual relationship between HANSA Destinations AB ("HANSA") and You who book a ferry trip through HANSA.

General

By making a booking with us, you accept that these terms and conditions apply to you and to all persons on whose behalf you are booking. You thereby also confirm that You have the necessary authority from those persons to do so on their behalf.

For passenger transport by ferry, HANSA's Passenger Transport Conditions - Ferry also apply.

In the case of passenger transport, the passenger has the right to bring on board certain luggage, such as bags, as well as vehicles for passenger transport if this has been booked specifically. For the carriage of other goods, HANSA's Conditions for the carriage of goods apply.

When does my booking become binding?

The booking becomes binding once the ticket has been paid.

What happens if I do not pay on time?

  • The booking will be cancelled if the final payment is not received by HANSA on the due date as stated in the booking confirmation. No reminders will be sent.
  • If you do not pay on time, this is considered a cancellation, in which case the rules on cancellation below apply.

Force majeure etc.

In the event that the trip cannot be carried out due to an obstacle beyond our control which we could not reasonably have expected at the time of the conclusion of the contract and the consequences of which we could not reasonably have avoided or overcome, we are free from any liability for damages or other sanctions.

We reserve the right to adjust our terms in case of law and price changes beyond our control.

What if I want to change or cancel my booking?

  • Our ticketing options have different terms and conditions for rebooking or cancellation, please see section 7 below for available options.
  • Whether or not it is possible to change all or part of the booking depends on the type of ticket you have.

Personal data protection

We will registered personal data you provide in connection with your booking. All personal data recorded will be processed in accordance with applicable personal data legislation. If you would like information about the personal data we hold about you, please contact us. Your data will not be kept longer than necessary. By paying, you consent to the processing of personal data by HANSA.

The purpose of this is to enable the usual guest administration, to ensure that HANSA has access to reliable personal documentation in the event of an accident, to comply with the terms of the cancellation protection and to administer and process any damages. The data may also be used to provide information on insurance and payment services and travel-related offers. You may also be contacted for market research purposes.

According to the rules of the Swedish Transport Agency (Transportstyrelsen), shipping companies must indicate in their passenger lists the name, date of birth, nationality and any disability. This applies to all passengers on HANSA ferries.

Ticketing options

The Mini Ticket, the Flexi Ticket and the Flexiplus Ticket are three ticket options with different conditions.

  • You have the possibility to choose different ticket options on outward and return journeys.
  • You cannot change to another ticket option after Your booking has been made.

Mini ticket

Booking conditions: The ticket is non-refundable and non-reversible.

  • Additions to the booking and change of passenger names allowed.
  • In case of cancellation of additional services at least 1 hour before departure, a refund of the additional services will be granted against an expedition fee. The refund should be requested within 90 days from the original departure date.

Payment terms: The ticket must be paid immediately.

  • Tickets not paid on time will be automatically cancelled.
  • From the time of booking, open purchase is valid for 24 hours.

Flexible ticket

The Flexi Ticket can be rebooked for a journey up to 24 months after the original departure date.

Booking conditions: The ticket can be rebooked up to 24 hours before departure.

  • The ticket is non-refundable.
  • The ticket can be rebooked for another journey that is available at the time of rebooking.
  • If rebooking to a more expensive option, the difference will be charged.
  • Tickets not rebooked in time cannot be used at a later date.

Payment terms: Payment must be received no later than 28 days prior to departure date.

  • For bookings made less than 28 days before departure, payment must be made immediately.
  • From the time of booking, open purchase is valid for 24 hours.

Flexiplus ticket

The Flexiplus ticket can be rebooked up to 24 months after the original departure date. It is also refundable.

Booking conditions: The ticket is reversible up to 24 hours before departure and refundable if cancelled at least 24 hours before departure.

  • The ticket can be rebooked for another journey that is available at the time of rebooking.
  • If a rebooking is made to a more expensive option, the difference will be charged.

Terms of payment: Payment due to us no later than 28 days prior to departure date.

  • For bookings made less than 28 days before departure, payment is required immediately.
  • From the time of booking, 24-hour open purchase applies.

Refund in case of illness

If you have to cancel your trip due to illness and cancel your ticket at least 24 hours before departure, a refund will be granted on presentation of a medical certificate, regardless of the ticket option.

The full value of the trip will be refunded except for an expedition fee.

Booking close to departure

It is not possible to book travel less than 1 hour before the time of departure.

Booking and payment fees

  • When paying at the port terminals, a handling fee will be charged.
  • For reservations by telephone or e-mail, a service charge applies.
  • The ticket offices in Nynäshamn and Visby are cashless.

Ticket office opening hours

The ticket offices in the terminals are open during ferry departures.

Single child/youth

Admission

Check-in opens 1.5 hours before departure. When you pass through, show your ticket and identification. The gates close 20 minutes before departure. 

If the time limit is exceeded, the seat is considered cancelled and can be given to another passenger.

Check-in time

  • Check-in passengers: 20 minutes before departure
  • Check in passenger cars: 20 minutes before departure
  • Check-in group travels: 60 minutes before departure
  • Check-in unbooked passengers: 60 minutes before departure

Deviations

Deviations from the timetable may occur in connection with military transport, vessel repairs, delays or rescheduling due to weather or other conditions beyond the control of HANSA.

HANSA is not liable for any damage or other consequences that may arise as a result of this.

Offers of rebooking, free of administration charges, may be made between crossings.

Animals on board

It is possible to bring animals on board on our trips. If you are travelling with a pet, you can book a pet cabin and bring the animal up from the car deck. There is also an outdoor rest area on deck.

Pet owners can also leave their animals in the vehicle on the car deck. It is possible to go down and check on the animals during the crossing and pet owners also have the option of walking the animals on the car deck. As a pet owner, you have full responsibility for your animal(s).

The passenger must compensate HANSA, whether at fault or not, for any damage caused by pets to the vessel, cargo, persons or other passengers' property.

Reservation for changes

We reserve the right to make any changes to times, prices, payment and discount conditions that are decided during the validity of the timetable.
